Hi guys. I have a 2024. Today the car started fine. I drove to the grocery store. When I attempted to restart the car, the message advised place key in transmitter. I have no idea what that is. I waited several minutes, than it did start. Came home and changed the battery Ran out again to another store. When I attempted to start it this time it said key fob not detected. The vehicle only has 8500 miles on it. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Your manual will show where to place the fob on the center console to start the car with a dead fob battery.
Try another brand of fob battery. Do not use one with a bitter taste coating.

Wow... I had the EXACT same issue last week, with my '24. It happened to me a few times. I didn't think it was the battery, because I could still remote start the car from across a parking lot.. so that would tend to indicate a strong battery. But after changing the battery, the issue hasn't happened again so far this week.

@Jingles15 - in mine, the place to put the transmitter is in the first cup holder, closest to the dash. The fob should be placed flat. If a new battery didn't resolve the issue, try your secondary key fob. If you still have the issue, I would get it to the dealer as soon as possible since you should still be under warranty.

@Lee - I've used Duracell batteries my entire life, and trust them above just about anything else. Just curious... why do you recommend against the ones with the bitter coating? Do you believe it doesn't provide as good of an electrical connection?

The problem is only with the ones with the coating which seem to affect the connection.
I've seen plenty of reports, especially on motorcycle forum.
