problem with starting point on navigation

How do I change the starting point of my navigation system? Every time I enter an address, I have to change the state from Washington, DC. Does anyone know how to change this to your home state/city?

Copied from another forum, I would think it should be similar.

Settings>Navigation>Address Book>Delete Stored Addresses>Home

When you've deleted home. Go to NAV, Addresses, then set Home
