GM certainly isn't going to show you how. There are videos on youtube about this. Whether or not they have your exact car, I don't know. Worth a look see.

Location is above the gas pedal. You may have issues if you try removing the module completely, as the infotainment system runs through it. You should at least be able to pull the antenna wire so it can't communicate, but I believe you are going to lose your radio unless you can connect the factory radio directly to the antenna. This particular module I believe has antenna in from the factory radio and antenna out from the VCIM (onstar).
