High Pressure Fuel Pump

Last Friday ,the engine started to race upon startup .
When I proceeded to drive the engine sputtered 3 times then took off .
Even though the dates don't match on the " Camshaft position solenoid " recall .I suspected mine had the problem .
I went to the dealer today ( 3/21/12) .On the way to the dealer I was stopped at an intersection and the car lunged forward 3 times with the brake applied .
It turns out that the " High pressure fuel pump" is bad .There is a service bulletin on it .I don't have the bulletin number yet ,I will post it when I get it .
The pump has been ordered and should be here on Friday 3/23/12

The pump arrived a day early and is being installed right now .

It is bulletin # PIP4783A
Besides changing the Fuel Pump ,it also calls for an oil change .
So far car appears to be OK .

I hope it stays that way.
My Terrain has been running funny the last few months, the other day I had to really get on it to keep from getting run over because of a tanker Truck.
After that it has been running better.
I was full throttle from 3 to 5 th.
I will say the I4 has some get up and go when you get the RPM's up.

No one will come out and tell you if there is a service bulletin on your vehicle .
The dealer will give the bulletins for yours if you ask for them ,or they will tell you if yours involved with one if you ask .
You will get a notification if there is a recall however .
