Help! Climate Control Module Replacement

I need help. I have a 2013 Equinox LT 2.4L. My heat and AC do not work and a family friend mechanic replaced everything, compressor, condenser, heater core, (took whole dash off and checked the air box as well) etc and many more parts literally everything (we used GM genuine for almost everything too from rock auto) My father in law just replaced blend door actuator also and still nothing. Checked the fuses as well and those seems fine too. So after reading and calling around it seems the last thing left is the actual climate control module behind the screen in the dash. My questions are: 1. Anyone find a video on this replacement? I found only 1 and after 45 mins the guy failed at getting old one out. 2. Can it be replaced without taking whole dash off? 3. Does the system need to be reprogrammed after replacing like at the dealership? I called around and quotes I got are like 1,00-1,200 which is just too much to spend. Appreciate any advice here!

Also side note, everything was working fine until car went in shop to have intake manifold and exhaust replaced. If that piece of info helps. After that work complete neither worked.
