Does anyone actually read the Owner Manual? I have 20,000 miles on my 25 RS, have had all of the updates (both over the air and at the dealer), I get between 29 and 32 mpg, I get the car serviced every 3,000 miles, I have had ZERO PROBLEMS and I downloaded and read the entire Owners Manual when I bought the car. IT HAD ANSWERS TO EVERY QUESTION THAT I CAME UP WITH DURING THE TIME I HAVE OWNED THE CAR. So, my suggestion to everyone that has purchased one of these wonderful cars is this - read the owners manual - all of it - and keep in mind that NO car is perfect BUT it will take care of you if you take care of it! Consider yourself very fortunate. I have an appt to get the telematic module diagnosed/replaced(?).

I had the same thing happen to me yesterday. Infotainment blanked followed by the main DIC. Out for 2 seconds than reappeared as if nothing was wrong. I have a 2025 with 1250 miles on it. I will report to NHTSA.​

I have had my Equinox RS for 3 months as well and NO the MPG does not stack up to my 2018 Equinox Premier. I lost 2 MPG on the highway with the new RS. The new Equinox is one tenth of an inch longer, one tenth of an inch taller, two and three tenths of an inch wider and weighs 84 pounds LESS than the gen 3 model. It also has two more gears in the transmission. All of the, somehow, equates to LESS miles per gallon. I really do not understand how that all works. My logical brain tells me that it should be the same or maybe better because there is less weight and more gears. We need an engineer to explain.​

Where in the manual does it describe how to, or where to, disable Approach Detection?

My wife and I purchased a new 2024 Tahoe Premier 4WD and a new 2025 Equinox RS AWD.

The miserable GM did not include a printed owner’s manual (or warranty folder) with either vehicle. I do not want to read a 300-400 page manual on my phone.

I ordered both owner’s manual from Helm Inc. Both were on national back order and eventually I received the manuals. I read both manuals.

We have had repeated problems with the Equinox - now with 4,6xx miles. It has been returned to the dealer numerous times for defects and problems, most of it software. You are very lucky that you have experienced no problems.

It's good to hear you see some value in it.

I don't believe I've ever sat and read a vehicle owner's manual cover to cover. I will use them as a reference, as needed however. I find them to be mostly useless today. I don't need to know to not ingest engine coolant or battery acid. At one time they were filled with useful DIY maintenance instructions. How to adjust your valve clearance, how to adjust the carburetor, etc. Now it's mostly safety warnings and "see your dealer".

I'm about the same. When we get new cars or motorcycles I scan the manual and look at things I may need. After that I only get the manual out when I have a question.
For the car I have the advantage of the dealer only being 2 miles away. I can go to the shop to ask the service manager or Tech a question. If it's something easy, I ask the salesman.

Serviced every 3000 miles??? Really? Does the owner's manual say service every 3000 miles? Our 2018 gets serviced every time the car says it is time. On a crazy long 23-day vacation across and around the western US, it was almost 8000 miles before the service light came on. In seven years we haven't had any issues. And like others have stated, I only use the owner's manual for reference, i.e.- bulb part numbers, recommended fluids, etc..

I started to read mine when I first got the car, but then I got a headache after a few hours. Since then I refer to it when I have an issue/question, I downloaded the PDF to all my laptops so I can access it.

I actually read the owners manual of every car I buy, Grandfather taught me at a young age that reading would be a life saver if I did it enough.

Have you compared the tire pressure from previous car to this car ? Also, brand of tire can have some impact and but certainly not 25%.

Considering that I bought a 2018 with the little diesel engine I thought reading the owners manual was a good idea. Still use it every time I get a new question usually about one of the very many optional features of the Premier Equinox. Yes I love the gray fuel mileage. My max is 57.9 mpg.
