I drive a 2022 Equinox LT with approx 50k miles. Has anybody had any issues with their A/C compressor? Mine recently failed. I previously owned a 2012 Equinox LS that had just shy of 200k miles when I got rid of it, but never had any A/C problems. I thought it was odd that the compressor failed so soon. My mechanic said alot of parts are being made smaller and they're working 50% to 100% harder to achieve the same output. Just looking for opinions or insight.

I know, I don't think I've ever had a car where the compressor failed on me. I'm well beyond the warranty period, but I'm still going to contact Chevrolet just to get it on record. It's not right that I have to put so much money into a car.

Now you got me worried, I just purchased a used 2022 LS Equinox that had 24,5000 Miles. Now I'm going to have to budget in a A/C check to make sure everything is working fine.

I've got a '17 Nox and the A/C hasn't worked right since I got it. It blows hot and cold during the summer. Heat during the winter no issues. It can blow cold for weeks at a time, then suddenly blow hot and the fan seems to go down a volume or two, stays hot for almost a minute, then blows out cold again.
Dealership can't diagnose the problem because it never acts up when it's in the shop, so I've been stuck with this issue for over 5 years and now it's out of warranty.

I have a 2022 equinox premier I bough brand new almost 3 years ago and my all of a sudden stopped blowing hot air. And it sounds like the compressor has some bad bearings or somthing. I just drove it 4 hours and didn’t overheat at all. No check engine light. I do I have 95,000 miles but it’s all highway miles and i hardly use the ac.

Possible leak in the AC system. Since you don't use it, don't fix it. It will have no impact of the engine cooling.

Sorry to hear about this. 2018+ HVAC issues seem to be rare to say the least. The shame of it is, the system (all automotive systems for that matter) is setup for R1234YF refrigerant, which is ridiculously expensive to service.
