2016 Equinox LT, Strange key-fob programming issues.

My 2016 Equinox LT has been great.
My key fob physically wore out, and the buttons broke off. It was working fine. My wife's fob works fine.

I bought a new case and moved the electronics to it. However, now it will only lock, unlock, start, and panic. It will not start the car. I have gone through the programming as my owner's manual shows.

Then I bought a replacement key-fob, moved the cut key to the new fob, and then went through the programming. Now it will start the car just fine, but it will not operate the door locks.

I have one fob that works the locks and one that will start the car. Why the original fob stopped starting the car is a mystery

Not very convenient

Any ideas?

OKAY,
I bought a new fob from the big A and moved my cut key to it, and it programmed just fine.

My problem is solved, but the electronics nerd in me still can't understand the weird results in the other key fobs.
