Just a few observations on a V6 oil change.....dumped my oil at 2500 miles.
Oil plug is very close to exhaust pipe....oil filter is nowhere the plug. My cheapo plastic oil pan was filled to the brim with 6 qts of oil. Used a separate pan for the filter. I think the manual calls for something other than PF48 filter, but dealership did not have the new filter. PF48 was on the car from factory and I replaced with same. Same filter as on my 2008 6.0 GMC 2500HD.......Will have the dealer change oil at 5000 so they see the Equinox once in a while. At 8000 to 10000....somewhere in there... will go with synthetic.
