The left side of the door has a stationary prong that protrudes through a ring on the filter case. Once the right side of door is unlatched and swung, the door's left side prong can be slid out from the case ring that retains the door face's prong. It is not intuitive when looking at the door for the first time. Owners manual doesn't help.</blockquote>
