Message: <blockquote data-quote="PoManNox" data-source="post: 28429" data-attributes="member: 8300">Dumb question, but why are you stepping on the brake pedal 3x to start it?   Even with vacuum boost brakes, the pedal will stiffen right up by press number 3 if the engine isn't running to pull vacuum on the brake booster.I assume these new electronic boost brakes are similar, in that you'll only get a 2 presses or so with the engine off before the brake pedal stiffens right up.The touchy brake thing I don't know.  I do know all the collision avoidance stuff will take over the brakes if these systems sense what they feel could be a collision.</blockquote>
