I made mention of the timing chain on the 2.4L in my 2012 model seemed to have about a 1/2 inch of excessive play which indicated a change of of the timing chain. I believe to have been wrong. I measured at most an 1/8 inch of travel. Is that still too much? It doesn’t seem like it. Now I’m wondering what would have caused the chain over the almost two years I’ve had the car to rub a 1-2 inch long hole through aluminum cam cover.
