After my last update, my Alexa app in car will not connect to the Internet. My OnStar subscription has also expired. Does the app only work if I have a subscription? Having my iPhone connected to Carplay is not good enough? When I check my Bluetooth settings on my iPhone, under "ChevroletXXXX", it says "Not Connected", however, Carplay is on and works fine. The Alexa app has worked fine since day 1. However, both an update and my subscription expiring happened around the same time so I'm not sure which, if any, of those are the cause. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

When my car’s WiFi subscription expired I started connecting my car to my phone’s hotspot. Everything works fine but I have to reconnect most times.

The 2025 Equinox should have basic Google for 8 years. My Google connection goes out about every 2 to 3 weeks. I went through OnStar help several times after the first times of Google not working then OnStar worked me through the steps of Restoring my Google connection. So when I start the car I press the Google Map icon and if I get a message I can’t connect to Google also voice won’t connect either -I will do a Restore before I leave my driveway. To Restore, the car must be running and not moving.
You hold down the Phone Hang up button on the Steering Wheel for approximately 15 seconds and the main screen will change with a bottom message asking if you want to RESTORE? I choose the RESTORE option. I do and I now have the Google system working again.

While it is good to have a work around, you would think GM is working on a real fix to this issue. Hopefully you'll see a software update soon, you shouldn't need to restore every few weeks. IMO

You don't need a subscription for car play but I think you might for Alexa to work.

This process no longer works on my car as the OnStar module has died from any connection working. I am now in a line waiting for a back ordered module replacement. My dealer has 3 on order. At least my CarPlay will work from my phone to the screen. My 2025 RS was built in the middle of Nov. 2024.

My module became intermittent a couple of months after I bought the vehicle. However once it was replaced I have only logged in to Google one time and it has never disconnected.
