Older modes you could but GM switched to electric brake booster and if the battery is left connected the brakes can apply. I read that some people were having an issue while towing through a cloverleaf and hearing squealing from the brakes being locked up. There are plenty threads going over the issues but the main takeaway is you need to disconnect the battery. You’ll also want to start your car every towing day to keep your transmission lubed.
