I thought I would update this post, as I found the problem. For anyone experiencing an almost metallic “slithering serpent” tapping-like noise on acceleration, (it almost sounds like pop fizzing), near the back of the engine or closest to the firewall along with a lack of power/torque on acceleration, check your exhaust manifold, specifically the one closest to the firewall (bank 1) for soot marks. If this noise is followed by the oxygen sensor bank 1 sensor 1 low voltage code that’s still present even after replacing it and checking the wiring, this could mean that you have an exhaust manifold leak which causes false readings on the o2 sensor, where the exhaust manifold gasket meets the manifold, causing the engine to run lean therefore causing a lack of power. Attached are two images of the back of the 3.4L engine which shows the black soot marks at the exhaust manifold gasket indicating a bad exhaust manifold gasket leak. The sound that I was hearing were my exhaust valves opening and closing rapidly, which were audible due to the leak. I hope this helps someone, it took me a while to put two and two together, since I did not find any information online about this sound, or anyone experiencing anything similar.
