I read something about the EVAP system that can cause problems. You might be able to disconnect and block it off to rule it out. since it's in gear at idle, I would suspect something more like that or a vacuum leak.
If you are saying that it's not blowing out any air, then you probably need to replace the blower motor. Fairly easy job, just look up some videos on it
Well it looks like oxygen sensor #1 had some kind of catastrophic failure and clogged the primary cat in the process causing the issue. It actually got worse but that explains it. I bought a pressure tester and discovered it had a blockage in that area. Since replacing the cat and O2 sensors...
Yeah it's rough doing it outside. I had to change the rearend of my Camaro back in the day outside and that was not fun. I've been fortunate to have a garage over the years to work on my vehicles in. I've had many cars over the years, all domestics, that drove pretty well for me without many...
There's enough information out there you could do some of the repairs yourself. Unless you didn't have a place to do repairs, were physically unable to, or had enough money that it wasn't a concern, I would suggest learning how to do your own repairs. Find videos on youtube and take pictures if...
6 cylinders are harder to work on in my experience. I have 2 equinoxs. 1 has the 4 cyl, 1 has the 6 cyl. The 6 is harder to work on, but doesn't have the same issues. My 6 cylinder ended up having an oil pressure issue as well as a timing chain code. You could tell it was neglected though...
I have that on occasion. Make sure your oil is at the right level and you are using the right stuff. Other than that you could try a new throttle body (or used one on eBay which is what I did). Something else you could try is disconnecting the MAF sensor and driving it and see if it changes the...
I did. Has worked great. Driven 40k+ miles. My original upper bolt snapped off so this definitely seemed like an improvement as has been. No, you need to pull the cover to swap the bolt out because there is tension on the chains and guide. Probably be a good idea to just replace the guides...
After more driving and other troubleshooting, I'm going to replace the high pressure fuel pump. I had P0172 pop a few times. My long term fuel trim is also fairly negative (around -9%). I added more gas and nothing changed. I think it's probably in the fuel system as it isn't just 1 cylinder...
I forgot to mention but this also happened right after filling up my tank so maybe bad gas? I put 3 gallons of 91 in it after burning some a few days ago, but it didn't really seem to make a difference. I just went on a drive to burn more fuel and check some of the sensor data. Fuel pump looks...
So last week I noticed an issue where my Equinox would go into the high rpms on my normal drive to work (headwinds can cause this to some degree) which includes some highway driving. By the second day I knew something was wrong. I have a bluedriver scan tool. I read the codes and saw a P0014...
