2nd Gen Nox 2.4l Transmission Fluid Dipstick, a GM part

Yeah, it would be nice if that would be a reasonable solution.

    New Member. 2013 Transmission questions.

The transmissions on the Nox/Terrain really are really hard on fluid. Some, including me, have taken to changing it out long before the recommended interval in the manual. At least every 50k miles. I have seen trans fluid getting bad as low as 35k miles in some of these vehicles. I know...

    regular unleaded

One really should consider running the recommended premium fuel. One problem that has developed with many high compression, direct injection engines is LSPI (Low Speed Pre Ignition). Especaily so in turbo models. It is one of the reasons that dexos1 Gen 2 oil was developed, why the current...

(cabin filter location) Mice Invasion 2018 Equinox

Cabin filter should be in the same place as my 2017 model.... behind the dash glove box. Remove the glove box and the filter is behind a 2 clip flip up panel. Easy to change. I had a couple of mice try to get into my 2015 Silverado via the cabin filter. They started a nest on it. I cleaned...

    Oil life

Could be. For any new engine, I usually change the factory fill oil out before 2000 miles anyway to get the break in wear metal particulates out of the motor and get some clean oil in. If you do the same and change the oil early, just reset the OLM and see how it does after that. Who knows...

    Burning oil

While it was not mentioned if the motor is the 2.4, the main reason that the oil burning starts on them is that the PCV port is located internally between cylinders 2 & 3 and gets clogged. The intake manifold has to be removed and the port cleaned out with something like 1/16" drill bit. If...

    2018 Diesel Mileage

Indiana is pretty flat except the SW section. Not sure it is a good barometer of what one would expect from a diesel or any other vehicle. Best mpg is one thing, the average for the 5000 miles is another. That "best" could have been on a short trip with a pretty good tail wind. And my...

    regular unleaded

I am really shocked that many of the new turbo engines from the various OEM's are not flex fuel rated. E85 has a 100 octane rating and I buy it for about $1.72 a gallon. I have no turbo gas engines, but all my vehicles are flex fuel and all of them are using E85 exclusively. Ethanol is used...

    I4 Transmission Oil Change

I have had several that I have taken to well over 200,000 miles. I think the longest was a 1974 Pontiac Catalina with a 400 in it that I took to roughly 325,000 miles. A close second was a 1966 Chevy C10 pickup with a 283 that I really was fond of. The Catalina died of extreme body cancer but...

    I4 Transmission Oil Change

Every personal vehicle I own I change out all drive train fluids by 10K miles to get break in wear metals out, then every 50K miles after that. Have never lost a trans, Xfer, or diff in almost 50 years. Just picked up a 2017 Nox 2.4 last weekend with 32K. Will change out trans, xfer, and diff...

    Transmission filter

Trans filter is only accessible if trans out of vehicle. Changing fluid only option. Do a complete fluid change every 40- 50K max and should be fine.

    2018 Diesel Mileage

While diesel mpg numbers can feel real good, I tend to look more at cost per mile. My 2017 Nox is flex fuel rated. On E85, been averaging around 21 mpg. We live rural so more two lane highway stuff than city. E85 is going for $1.72 in my area right now. At 21 mpg, that equates to roughly...

    Oil life

Could be on some. I know my 2015 Silverado 2500 OLM is not related to time. The last two years, I changed the oil once a year since I didn't put more than about 3000 miles on it in a year. The OLM still showed roughly 55% at 13 months since the last oil change. Just got a 2017 Nox, so...
