Turning radius

This car has the worst turning radius of any vehicle of any vehicle I have ever owned. Trying to adjust. I have curbed this damn thing more than every other car in the last 50 fn years. anyone else, or is it me? 2018 Premier

My 2024 Equinox doesn't seem to be any different than my prior 2011 Impala, as far as turning radius. I judge it by doing a U-Turn from the left turn lane, into the outer lane of a 2 lane highway on the other side. I definitely come close to the curb, but so far I've cleared it wherever I've done a U-Turn.

You didn't give any information on what year or model your Equinox is so I can't give you the specs on it.

The turning diameter of my 1997 Ford Aerostar is 40 ft.
The page I linked to shows the 2023 Malibu turning diameter is 37 ft.
The turning diameter of the 2022 Equinox is 37.4 ft (radius 18.7 ft)

In the very first sentence, I said I had a 2024 Equinox. My signature file provides more specific details regarding my model:

I guess the turning radius of my Equinox works fine for me. I'm sorry it doesn't meet your needs.

I immediately noticed that the turning radius on my 22 RS was not as tight as my 13 LT, ever since I first tried. Smaller car, bigger radius - who woulda thought?

I wouldn't think so, as the mechanical linkage, rack etc should be the same as if it was not electric. Maybe, but I kinda doubt it

An internet search reveals the turning DIAMETER of the 2018 Equinox is 37.4 ft. The radius would be 1/2 of that figure or 18.7 ft.

My 2020 Equinox Premier 2.0L is horrible and this really is the only thing I dislike about the car. My 2016 Hyundai Sonata could make the 90-degree turn into our garage with ease. This thing is always a 3-point turn otherwise I'd run into the side of my wife's car. Trying to turn into parking spaces is almost never doable unless I start from the far side of the aisle. The turning diameter (curb to curb) difference is supposed to be 35.8 feet versus 37.4 feet but it sure feels like more.

I agree, my 2019 FWD turns like a school bus.

My point exactly. Specs aside, pulling into a parking spot has to be done carefullly. Never had a car that turned so wide.

I had to laugh when I read this. Literally every single time my husband drives our 2024 Equinox he complains about the turning radius. Every. Single. Time.

Just today I had to park in a parking garage. You know, narrow spots and other drivers who do not understand what those white lines on the pavement are for. That was a five-point turn to get parked.
