Spark plug, wire change 07 Nox

New guy but did this today.
Not too dificult the back ones suck a little bit.

You really don't need any special tools. Just the correct size spark plug wrench, flat tipped screw driver, ratchet and various extensions.

You have to remove the oil cap, filler tube and EGR connector. The connector is where you will use the screw driver.

EGR connector, you have to get the screw driver in there to release it.

Remove the beauty, sound deading cover. It will look like this. It will just pull off.

The front ones are easy. Plenty of room

The rear ones? No so much, but not the worst I have ever done.
You do most of it blind.
You can do some of it by going between the subframe and engine or moving behind the subframe and going up from there.

Looking up between the engine and the subframe, the plugs and wire
are on the topside of the rear exhaust manifold.

Pretty straight foward plenty of room on the backside, just hard to see.
Took me about 2 hours and got right about 70 bucks with all OEM parts from Rockauto.

Just some info here. I own a 2007 Equinox with 200.000 KM on
it. Plugs and wiring were never changed, the vehicle started stuttering
when going into third gear (40-50 km). Almost felt like a transmission problem.
After much research I realized that the issue was the ignition ie plugs an wiring.
The front three cylinders were a breeze (2-4-6). But when it came to the back (1-3-5)
with limited space HOLY ! After 8 hours of struggling I sill could no remove the boots
connected to these plugs. They were literary seized. After much research especially
the one on using a cloths hanger LOL which absolutely did no work. I decided to use
an electrical extension wire and turn it into a noose to wrap around the plug boot the physics being that as you pull it get tighter around the boot. These puppies came out with no problem. Be forewarned if your not going to replace the wires don't do this. On two of my plugs the wiring and connector remained on the plug. I then used a double long socket set one for the plug itself (you have to remove the interior rubber plug retainer to let the connector to the plug protrude through the socket) Then you place a secondary socket on top of your plug socket and Voilà.

On a side note, when going for the back plugs on your Equinox
I suggest you unplug and remove your coil pack (4 Bolts)
makes for much easier access.
