My rear view mirror got ripped off. It looks like it should just pop back on but it's not going easily and I'm worried I could break the windshield. This is how it looks. I started to take the middle cover off but my flat head was doing damage and the thing seemed like it would snap before the tabs cleared. Any help greatly appreciated.

I've never worked on that type, but it might be a good idea to check with your Chevy dealer, or an auto glass shop. I'd think they could pop it back on without breaking the bank, or your windshield.

Dang, I really don't want to go that route. From the looks of it, it should have to just pop on. Wonder if a plastic dead blow hammer and wrap the mirror in a wrap would be sufficient to protect the glass. I'd definitely feel better if I could remind the male end first. Everything is made out of tissue paper now I just know I'm going to break something if I don't.
