2005/2007 Radio swap

We have a 2005 with an aftermarket radio in it. We bought a 2007 to replace the 2005, and I was curious if I could take the 2007 radio and put in in the 2005, as we intend to sell that one. Will that work, or do I just need to leave that radio in the 2005 and buy a new one for the 2007?
