Interesting...but wish they would fix the MPG's of the I4 :)

Sounds like that just fixes the DIC to read what the car is actually getting....

Probably going to make it show more so the people getting bad mpg will think they are getting better then they are.

i'm sure they will fix this to their benefit. I contacted the EPA and they said it's the wind resistance that is bringing the mileage down over their figures. Also, hwy test is done at 60 mph..not sure what "hwy" they are using since in CA it's 65 and now I live in KS it's 70.

They said they have had numerous complaints on Terrain/Equinox and have passed along to GM>

I don't think Wind resistance is that huge of a factor for these mostly wind friendly vehicles.

Put any of my trucks on a windless test simulator and back out in the wind and there wont be much if any difference.

First ,I had the driver information center reprogrammed with the updated software and it does now more accurately reflect the actual mileage .
Also ,
One thing that I have not seen mentioned is that the current administration has allowed the blend of ethanol ( not to be confused with e85 ) to be raised from a 10% blend to a 15% blend thus lowering our mileage .
I also have heard that when the ratings are done ,it is done with real gasoline and not an ethanol blend .

I was told by a dealer that i can't expect to get anymore than 24 MPG and the the 32 MPG is Government numbers and Chevy dosen't have to meet them. Basically they closed the door in my face on that complaint.

You will see 32 mpgs if you are easy on the throttle and drive 60mph all the time. My wifes v6 gets 25 on average but we have seen it get as high as 29 on a non stop trip.
