Does anyone know if I should go Genuine over Generic for the windscreen replacement?
Is there a quality or other reason to insist on a genuine windshield.
(Aussies call it a windscreen - and I think USA call it a windshield)

If you have safety items that use a camera mounted at the top of the windshield/screen, you should go Genuine. Others have had trouble calibrating the systems with generic, and had to go with Genuine to be able to calibrate.

There can be quality issues with any aftermarket glass. Even OEM can have it's issues. A good auto glass shop will know what works per make/model vehicle. To me, the quality of the removal and replacement is more important than the brand of glass. I've seen the aftermath of poor work. Trying to hide broken plastic by gluing it back together. Scratched paint from sealant removal using the wrong tools, etc..etc..
