Your first oil change and all others is good to do at 5,000 miles and every 5,000 thereafter. No need for anything less at any time.

You're obviously NOT a mechanic, machinist or an engineer. A new engine is FULL of little metal pieces. First oil change should be done at 500 miles to remove this debris.

I've been a general auto repair mechanic and have changed my own oil in all of my vehicles for 54 years with zero issues. Although a 500 mile initial change can't hurt and may have minimal, noticeable benefit, 3,000 miles was the earliest I have done an initial and regular oil changes. With the development of synthetic oils, I've moved to every 5,000 miles with zero issues including the initial change on our 2025 Equinox that the manufacturer recommends at 7,500. My three most recent high mileage engines were in a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix 3.8, a 94 Ford Ranger 2.3 and a 2014 Chevy Equinox that all easily made to 170,000 miles plus without leaks or usage except for the 2014 Equinox which was using about a quart between changes and that's normal for that particular engine.

I worked for a filter manufacturer for 25 years and every time someone got a new car, we'd pull open a filter at 500 miles. You wouldn't believe the amount of metallic debris we found inside.

Just telling you my experience.

And that's why that filter is there. 🙂
