What's the best way to get a duplicate key fob?

Just purchased a 2018 Equinox LT, and it only came with one key fob. What's the most economical way to get a second key fob? I believe the dealership charges around $200.

Could I buy a "blank" key fob and program if myself?

I believe you can. Take a look at this video . Could buy a fob on eBay for about $50. User your current key to program the fob. Bring it to a locksmith to cut the key. I want to say Ace Hardware and Home Depot I think I saw can cut these keys.

Got the key fob, got it programmed myself. It has set off the service theft deterrent light possibly because I had to do the learning twice on the fob. (My fault) car runs fine just have the light on. I am going to post here and hopefully find out how to make the light reset now. Aren't computers fun? Lol

I purchased a spare key fob from Amazon and went to the dealership to have the key cut (i got lucky and they did it for free) and programmed it ourselves. Only issue is the one I got from eBay lags a bit and doesn't always cooperate with the remote start but it's no biggie.
