I purchased a 2025 Equinox lt with 5,+ miles on it and was getting around 32 mpg. Although I liked the car...I couldn't stand the Black color...so I traded it for Chevy Equinox Lt in white. It had 22,+ miles on it which I knew was high...but, since I only put 5k to 6k miles per year...so it didn't really bother me. When I got the car home I started checking out the vehicle settings and status. That's when I found out the former owner was only getting 24 mpg. I checked my mpg in driving the car home and found out I was only getting 29 mpg. which it is still getting. I took the car to a friend and had him check the oil and the brakes to make sure the dealer had done what he said they had. Yes, that was fine. However, the rear brakes had also been changed while the front ones had not and had 40% listed on the vehicle status. But, my friend told me they looked good. However, he told me that I should replace all the tires before snow. Which although upset...I did. I also, drove the car until it reached !/4 tank and while filling added fuel injection additive.
My question is what are other drivers getting per mile?
Is there anything else that I can do to help the car get more gas mileage? Perhaps the air filter? There is also another part which the name alludes me...starts with a P and attaches to (I think some hose in the engine)?
I'm asking these questions because it has 22k+ miles in one year, the previous owner's low mpg, having the back brakes changed,40% on front brakes and having to put all new tires on it. Owner must have been brutal on it.
Thanks
Greg
