I recently started the car remotely (can't remember if I used the fob or the app, if it matters). When I went to the car I had some packages to put in the cargo area, which opens automatically if the fob is nearby. I put the packages in, along with my purse containing the fob and my phone, and closed the lift lid. Thinking the car is now unlocked with the fob being in it, I went to the drivers door, and surprise, the door is locked. The lift lid also won't open now, nor any of the other doors. Fortunately I have another fob in the house so I used that to unlock the car. But what if I hadn't been home? I'll of course avoid this scenario in the future (which I'm pretty darn sure I have done in the past with no problem, such as short trips where I know I won't need my purse along the way and also know that I'll need to access the cargo area anyway when I reach my destination) but what would be my options if I didn't have that 2nd fob handy? Thanks!

On our previous generation Equinox the car will give a rapid horn honk if the fob is left in the car.
I think on ours the car will not lock.
Did you try the lock/unlock button on the door handle?
Hopefully someone with a 2025 or 2026 can help.

I should check my 2018 Equinox and 2025 Blazer to know exactly how it works.
Easier to check in the garage than some parking lot when it's below zero :)

You could call OnStar with another phone and ask them to unlock your car remotely.

That is interesting. I know on my 2021 LT model, after a remote start, you have to physically press the button on the exterior door handle(s) to get the doors to unlock, or use the FOB buttons to unlock. I don't believe I tried to open the rear hatch during a remote start, while leaving the doors locked.
