Transmission Issue

I have a 2011 4 cyl awd with 16,500 miles .The past few weeks on 1-2 and 2-3 upshift it has been jerking .I took it in yesterday . It turns out there is a software update for that specific issue .I just picked it up and now it shifts smoother than the first day I brought it home .I believe the update # is DE 18D04 .
Now I am curious to see if it also improves my mileage .

After two and a half weeks ,I am getting just over two miles a gallon more. City driving ,I have not been on the highway yet .
