2006 Equinox - The entire center brake light assembly needs to be replaced. How do I find the part number and any suggestions on where to by parts.
Also which number in the VIN is the color of the car?
Dealer is best to get part numbers, if you go in and ask the parts counter they should be able to provide them...or you could do some good searches
No part of the VIN has any options listed. What your thinking about is the service parts indentification sticker (this list all your options, typically in glove box or in trunk...varies depending on your car). A dealer can take your VIN and bring up all this information, once this sticker has been located you have to learn to read it, it list every option your car was built with. The paint code line starts with BC/CC (base coat/clear coat), the letter and/or numbers after is your paint code. It is typically the last line in the parts indentification sticker, and somtimes even highlighted in yellow
Ie...mine reads BC/CC WA5650 (the paint code is wa5650)
Hope this helps some
