Tire wobble going uphill

Front tire wobbles when going up steep hills. No wobble at low or highway speeds. Maybe unbalanced tire?

The favorite speed for unbalanced tires is about 45 mph. They might smooth out a little at higher speeds and not turning fast enough to notice at slower speeds. If that's when you're feeling the wobble, it could be a balance problem. Check it for a blister/bubble too.

The older the vehicle the more likely it's not the tire itself. I'm curious how you know the tire is wobbling and not some other mechanism? What do you sense? Is it both front wheels? And no wobble going down hills, how odd. Tie rods/antisway bar, perhaps.

I have a 2025 Equinox, purchased new. At 34,000 miles started having "wobble" going up hills or under acceleration. Had tires rotated and balanced.... no change. Found a PRELIMINARY INFORMATION Bulletin Issued 12/2025 PIT 6466 for 2025-2026 Equinox. Had local Chevy dealership shop foreman take a ride; he confirmed it has the "WOBBLE"! People are reporting this issue; GM Engineers are working on the fix, but they do not have anything yet! The state that it does NOT affect drivability. For me, its dang dangerous!! I put a GOPRO under the vehicle to see what was moving. I'll try to add the file here; but basically, its not the suspension, its the engine and transmission shifting left to right under load/acceleration. I gave the shop foreman a copy of this video to share with GM Corp.... have not heard anything yet! Yesterday, my wife was on a trip and now its developing a "clunk" of some sort. Sent dealership service an email to have them check it out.... it is dangerous!

My 2024 Equinox developed a wobble after the first complimentary tire rotation done by the dealership. I noticed the wobble when I left the dealership. I reported the issue at the next visit.They indicated they were unable to duplicate the problem. I reported the issue again at the next service visit. They said they found a tire out of balance. The service ticket said they performed a balance of tires, operated vehicle, and concern was no longer present. Again, when leaving the dealership, I noticed the wobble was still present. Now that the new vehicle warranty has expired, I’m sure they’ll find the real issue the next time I report it.

Ours is back in the shop AGAIN.... now its starting to make a "clicking" sound along with the wobble. I took the shop foreman another ride... and we didn't go 200 feet and he could hear it. Another poster mentioned them replacing his half shafts and the issue went away. His mileage was also in the 30,000s. IF they do this to ours and it "fixes" the issue...... my concern then is.... are we going to have to replace them again at ~60,000??? Motor/transmissions should not be moving left and right! Halfshafts are not motor mounts!!

We are now over the original warranty period.... so we'll see what they do now.
