Has anyone gotten the "Surround Vision Recorder" working. We have the surround vision but I don't see a way to record it. If you have the cameras and the USB socket there does not seem to be any other hardware required. Is a software update needed? I have tried various size USB drives formatted all different ways.

Last night a driver passed us on the left shoulder and proceeded to brake check us. I tried to get my phone out to record but this maniac got far ahead of us in no time by cutting off everyone else on the road.

Here is the section in the owners manual (page 219, PDF version) that describes the operation. I don't want to hang a dashcam on the car when we already have 6 cameras built into the car.

"If equipped "
The car is a 2025 Midnight Edition. As I previously mentioned, we do have "HD surround vision". @bdevaux do you have this working? As far as I can tell the recorder itself is not a separate option. The "equipped" is the 6 cameras for the surround vision, which we DO HAVE. I went online to build an Equinox and the only option is just " HD surround vision". 1743269260933.png

Please correct me if I am wrong. I'd really like someone who has this working to reply.

I have the exact same question. There are no options beyond HD Surround Vision so there must be a way to get the recording to work. Someone put it in the owners manual for a reason, right?

Vehicle Availability

Currently, the only GM vehicle that offers the Surround Video Recording System is the Cadillac CT6. The system is standard on CT6 Luxury, Premium Luxury and Platinum trim levels.

My first post has an excerpt from the EQUINOX owner manual, not a Cadillac. We're not missing any hardware. Yes, I have found numerous references to the feature for Caddys. But Chevy clearly intends to make this feature available on an Equinox.

I wonder if anyone who was able to get that elusive software update that turns on the Universal Home Remote also got the video recording enabled?

Hi everyone,

So the software seems to be installed, as I am able to launch it with a voice command. However, when I go to set ut up, it does not detect a USB drive capable of recording so won't set it up. The software says it needs a USB flash drive with minimum 64 GB, USB 3.0 and FAT32 format (which is funny because normally FAT32 only goes upto 32GB natively).

I tried to ask the dealer about it and they have no clue this even is meant to exist on the car.

As far as I know you can't exceed 32GB on a FAT32 partition. Just out of curiosity what was the voice command you used to launch it? I wanted to see if the software is installed on my system and experiment with some of my USB drives.

what model Equinox do you have, with what options? I was under the impression only Cadillacs had this. EV or Gas?

As for the 64GB Fat32, there is a thread on another forum that says there are free utilities that can format Fat32 on larger USBs. Sorry I don't remember the name, Google can probaly point you in the right direction.

What voice command do you use? Were you ever able to actually get the recordings?
