Hi. We are planning to flat tow our 2022 Equinox LT with a RoadMaster system and would like to include a RoadMaster Guardian to protect the vehicle. The owner's manual states: "Caution, the use of a shield mounted in front of the vehicle grille could restrict airflow and cause damage to the transmission. The repairs would not be covered by the vehicle warranty. If using a shield, only use one that attaches to the towing vehicle". Is this a concern? The engine is off when we flat tow. We would remove the shield when we unhook the car to drive it. Assistance would be greatly appreciated.

What the manual says. You are still generating heat in the transmission when towing. It has to have air flow. They don't write things into the instructions to be long winded. Put good mud flapps and stone guard on the bottom of the RV. Cover the SUV with painters tape if your still worried.
