2022 Equinox 68K miles. The second p0332 engine code. First one last month, engine knock sensor bank 1. Replaced the sensor and the code went away. Today, the second time but for bank 2. Replaced the sensor, but the code did not clear. Leads me to think a bad wire?? Big pain as bank 2 is behind the alternator. Any suggestions? Known wire harness issues?

Check wiring before replacing parts is the only advice I can give. If the part doesn't have what it needs to operate, it won't. Good luck!

The code is circuit low input for the knock sensor. It doesn't necessarily mean anything is wrong with the knock sensor itself, it more than likely is pointing to a chewed or broken wire or corroded connector to this sensor. There's only one bank on the 1.5. Not sure why this code says bank 2.

I hear you on winging electronic parts at it if a genuine GM replacement part is cheap and easy enough to get. If it's expensive, you're better off paying for a proper diag and be done with it.

There are 2 knock sensors on this engine (1.4L). The code for "bank 1" is the sensor near cylinder 3/4, and "bank 2" is behind the alternator cylinders 1/2. (Labelled backwards!) I decided to swap sensors. The issue code switched from bank 2 to bank 1. I assumed it was a bad sensor out of the box. I replaced that sensor, but the bank 1 code is still present. I know you can drive the vehicle with the engine light on, but the way it surges and dogs, I can't in traffic. It may be time to take it to the stealership or a place that can do more diagnostics than I can. Beginning to look at trade in value for a NOT GM product.

UPDATE: Took the Equinox to the dealer: Replace the new, installed knock sensor with yet another new one. Took care of the issue and lightened my wallet by $450 (part was $45).
