Onstar Module Bad

2025 Equinox RS 1100 Miles. Onstar quit working as far as the GPS & Blue light is off. The my checvrolet app still says everything is fine.
Vehicle is at the dealership now. They troubleshooted it for about a hour & originallly said it was not the module,that it was in the wiring.Then gave me a loaner.
Called me a couple hours later & said it was the module & I could drive it with no problem. They dont know when the new module will be in.
I will take the loaner back tomorrow if the weather permits"Ice Storm coming".
Just wondering if any body else has this problem..did google it & did not come up with much on the 2025.

I keep getting an intermittent service onstar warning. I just figured it was out of cell range/lost connection issue though

This morning when the dealer stated it up it was working fine...ordered a new module anyway.

Onstar ?? I saw that "dowop" above was at 1100 miles in his 2025 Equinox, this week I got to 1184 miles and my Onstar red light came on. I also received an email alert from Onstar Member Services saying there was a critical diagnostic alert requiring my immediate attention. It sounds serious. but is it? I know that there is a capability in the programming system for the engine and other features, to be turned on or off. I would hope that it wouldn't turn off while I'm driving.
I cancelled my Onstar membership and a lot of other memberships after my Social Security check didn't come this month.
I can't get any answers as to why, from the Social Security people. They will get back to me soon.

I had heard that somewhere else. I believe it was earlier in previous threads.

Sales guy said 5 years for this, 8 years for that. Onstar tried to bill my Credit Card $60 in January. Not happening! Then they offered me a "Deal".... A deal? .!.. $5/mo for 1 year. Really?
We only drive 25 miles a week anyway. Our car insurance has towing: $5 for 6mos.
Don't get me wrong. I think the Onstar is a good thing. I also listened to XM and then SeriousXM for over two million miles for seventeen years. That was after my Engineering position was cut in 2001. But Now.....I like the quiet.

Something similar. My Google stops working and when I ask it to do something it says not connected. The last time it happened I also lost OnStar. I couldn't get the Google reconnected until I finally got a QR code which got me right in and connected. Everything started working and OnStar came back. I didn't think OnStar and Google were connected but somehow they are.

Just wondering if the module ever came in and if you've had that fixed? I see your post was from December. Mine went out in June and they are saying that the Onstar modules are on backorder through GM with no estimate of when they will be back in stock. I have a 2025 RS, one of the main reasons why I purchased this car was to be able to use the MyChevy App to start the car and adjust the temperature, especially in the winter. If they can't get this fixed I will be getting rid of the car, this latest Onstar issue is just adding on to the list of issues I've had with this vehicle and I am not paying to have a half-functional, rebuilt car.

I still have the original module. It has been working since they took everything apart & it sat overnight at the dealers.....so far.
They sent the new one back since they are in short supply.
Hope It stays working.
All the windows go down overnight sometimes,but that is another story(

I must of spoke to soon. Just went out & the onstar redlight is on & it keeps searching for the GPS. Everything checks out ok in the my chevrolet app though. Will call the dealer when they open...

Seruously thinking about taking a big loss & trading in on a new 2025 Blazer 2.0 FWD. Dont know though if they have all the same type of problems...

Just an FYI, my module stopped working 7 months ago on my new 2025. I brought it to the dealership which I have known forever stating it was taken care. Well, they didn't take care of it, and I called On Star troubleshooting department, and we both determined it was a bad module. Dealer told me to bring it back, I said no but told my sale rep to just order me a new module. He did and about three weeks later it came in. They installed it yesterday and now my MPH on the dash is back as well as some of my Sirius statins that work in conjunction with the OnStar module.

My module stopped working on 12/22. I couldn’t get an appointment until 1/14/26 when it was diagnosed as a bad module. Back ordered at least two weeks. Module was finally replaced on 2/10/26.

This is frustrating. I think I've read of more various module failures on 2025s than I have on all of the 2018-2024s.

I asked my service advisor whether there were any repeat failures. He said he hadn't seen any. :dunno:
Hopefully, the part was updated.
