Hi, I have a 2016 equinox, just bought it . Before I had a 2012 Terrain (with the same 2.4l engine), on that model one mechanic sugested me to change the oil fill cap for one with the "check" valve, because the pressure release line gets clogged. I wonder if this year have the same issue? Thanks on advance.

I modded a PCV valve into the oil cap 4 years ago. Maybe that’s what he meant by check valve. It’s kind of a check valve but not completely. Pressure can still push it open if there’s not enough vacuum. Which is what you want with this engine.
