New vehicle with engine light on already

I have a 2025 Equinox that has nasty over 6000 miles on it. Last week the check engine light came on, and the phone app says it is an issue with the throttle. I took it to the dealer Tuesday who said it was a faulty fuel injector #3. They didn't have one in stock, so they gave me a loaner and ordered the part. I picked up the vehicle yesterday with no issues. This morning, engine light came back on with the same error message. I called the dealer and have another appointment next week to bring it back in. They are going to replace all of the fuel injectors this time. It's this some kind of known issue? I just think it is insane at 6k miles with the same issue twice already. Wondering if I got a lemon...

It stinks to have problems with a new car. Injectors sound more like fuel management than throttle control? A bad batch of injectors is probably possible. Hope they get it figured out for you quickly.

That is a bummer for sure. Were you able to get the actual OBDII codes?

I don't have a lot of faith in dealer service. They don't typically have the resources to troubleshoot. They follow a matrix and swap parts.

The reason I asked is I suspected it was going to be the P050D code. This is the "rough idle after cold start" code. Some people on this site are dealing with it. This code seems to effecting 2024-25 model Equinox, Traverse and clones and GM hasn't come up with a fix yet. It appears GM added this code to the logic around 2024 on their 4cyl turbo models and it's causing grief for a lot of owners.

I'm not sure why they messed with injector #3 for the P050D code, but maybe something solid led them in that direction.

I got mine in September last year and I have had the Cold Rough Idle code come up 5 times so far, latest one was this past Saturday in mid 40°F temps. The first 2 times I took it in and it was a history code, so they couldn't find anything. The 3rd time it went off within 2 days. The 4th time I took it in again and they still couldn't find anything and started a service ticket with GM. I was going on vacation, so I let them keep the vehicle for a week. When I got back they told me they still couldn't find anything and that GM engineers are aware of it and trying to come up with a fix.

I told them that is why I kept bringing it in even though it was clearing itself, I wanted it documented. The 1st time it happened, I had just over 3,000 miles on it. Now I am pushing 9,500.

I read somewhere that they are replacing fuel injectors on certain 24 and/or 25 models that had faulty injectors from the factory. I am unsure if this will be a recall or TSB.

This is amazing! This has got to be the issue all along. I have the appointment for tomorrow for the fuel injectors to all be replaced, but now I know there are other items that need to be replaced as well. I have called the service department, and hopefully they can get those parts for tomorrow...

I have 1300, it came on at 600. Nothing since. It was very cold for 3 days and didn't start car. They said they couldn't ck it because lite went out.

I'm having a similar situation. 30,000 miles on a 2020. They replaced the purge valve and then vent valve. Light came on again.

I have had two issues. One was brand new (<100 miles) had to replace the BCM. The second one was about 7000 the check engine light, it was a crank case sensor.

General Motors has issued a Customer Satisfaction Program related to a possible fuel leak for the 2025 Chevy Equinox crossover, with a fix available to current owners.

Customer Satisfaction Program N242489010 is in effect for affected 2025 Chevy Equinox units until February 28th, 2027, roughly two years and two weeks from the current date.
