I'm in my early 70's and the current owner of a 25 Equinox RS. I went from a Pontiac Torrent to a 2018 Equinox Premier with every option in the spring of 2019. I live in the midwest and have family in LA and made 12 trips there over the past years putting 122,000 absolutly care-free miles on the car. I just did all of the recommended maintainance and had zero issues with an average of 32.5 miles per gallon. The miles added up so I traded. I probably would have kept the 2018 and driven it to 200,000 if I were a younger man. I have driven 6 vehicles over 200,000 miles. Here are some thoughts after one month and 1000 miles of ownership with the 2025:

The tech is a MAJOR upgrade and the fact that they throw in 8 years of On-Star Basic as well as all safety features is very positive on the part of GM.
The ride is a little softer and the bumps are absorbed much better on the 2025 than the 2018.
There is no Bose radio option. After getting used to Bose - the radio in this is a bit of a downgrade.
Evotex - no matter what you call it - is not leather. It's an upgraded plastic. That being said - I like the feel of Evotex and it is supposed to require less care than leather.

Of course, these are all subjective opinons on my part. I look forward to hearing what other owners think of their 2025 Equinox.

Welcome! Thanks for sharing your thoughts, there are lots of things i like about the 25, and a few things that keep me from upgrading to one. Mainly that my 22 is just getting broke in at 126,000km lol.

The lack of a premium audio is a downer to me, maybe not a show stopper, but disappointing. I would have hoped that if they took away the upgraded audio option, that they would have upgraded the standard audio.

and the nonsense about Evotex needing less care than leather - leather requires almost no care so that's a bunch of hooey to me.

Anyway, glad you are enjoying the new ride, I am jealous of all that new tech compared my 3 yr old Nox.

I loved the leather and the Bose and my 3rd gen equinox. I’m a retired band director with a bit of a hearing loss - so the sound system was not a deal breaker since I can’t hear anything in the high range anyway. I have not one bit of buyer’s remorse though. I really like the newest generation.

This is my third 'Nox in 12 years. My first was a 2013 LT which I loved. It was a lease vehicle though as it made sense while I was working. When the lease expired I replaced it with a 2016 'Nox on a lease as well as I was still working. When the lease came up in 2019 I had planned on purchasing a 2019 LTZ 'Nox, however when I attempted to get into it, it wasn't comfortable at all. I'm 6'8" and some of the changes between the 2016 and 2019 left me without enough room to comfortably drive it. So I purchased my 2016 at the end of the lease and I did save a lot of $'s as mine had all the bells and whistles, including the Sunroof option, and that would have bumped up the price on the 2019. The one thing that disappointed me with the 2016 is it was one of the few models of Chevy's that didn't get the upgraded infotainment center with support for Android Auto or Apple CarPlay.

What prompted me to go for the 2025 was the possibility of increased prices with potential tariff's. In addition, I really wanted all the new technology, and best of all I FIT! It didn't hurt that the dealer gave me $9000 for my LTZ on trade-in as well, so I went with the AWD RS.

At 72, there is a good chance this may be my last new purchase and I have no regrets. I'm enjoying all of the technology (Especially now that I've had the upgrade for the Universal Remote option), to me the ride is much smoother than my 2016 was, and I still love the overall look and feel of the Equinox. What I haven't figured out yet though is others are referencing the parked video viewing option and the possibility of recording video on a USB drive (aka Dashcam). I have been unable to find either option after the upgrade. With regards to the sound system yes, it's no where near as robust as the Bose system I had in my 2016, but then again, at 72 the old ears ain't what they used to be and the fact that I can now listen to my music via CarPlay and Apple Music is such a plus I can live with it. One of my biggest complaints with the 2016 was the fact that if I was listening to my music via Bluetooth, after shutting off the 'Nox and then starting back up on my next drive it wouldn't automatically connect back to my phone it would switch back to either Serious XM or FM depending on what I had last listened to, so I would have to reestablish the connection to hear my music. With AutoPlay, when I get back in the 'Nox it just picks up right where I left off with my song.

After posting the above I went back out to the garage and started digging around in the settings. I did find the options for Max and Prime they were in the Google Play Store. I keep forgetting to look there as I have an iPhone so I tend to check their Apps. I was able to successfully install and test the Prime Video, but couldn't do the same with the Max app. Unlike when logging in on your phone or the web, the app in the 'Nox doesn't offer logging in via your provider. Since we get Max for free from AT&T I don't have a normal login account, so no way for me to login that I can tell. Now I still have to figure out the USB "dash cam" option.
