I bought a 2023 Equinox LT in July and really enjoyed the first 6 months of owning it. On December 10th it stopped working on my way home from work so I decided to join the forum to find more information about what I got myself into.

Did the check engine light up ? Did you pull the codes ? If so, what was it ?

The check engine light came on and the Reduced Power message came up and it entered "limp mode". Had to have it towed. Brought it to the Chevy dealer I bought it from. They said it was the High Pressure Fuel Pump and the rails. They replaced those but still got a bunch of codes. I don't know which codes. They said something caused damage inside one of the cylinders. The Fuel pump was out of warranty but the engine is still under warranty. It sounds like they basically have to rebuild the engine. They told me they would have it an additional 5-7 weeks partially because some of the parts are hard to get.

I got a call and they had to replace the battery. It was the most expensive car battery I have ever paid for by double. I got there to pick it up and the check engine light was on. Looks like it gets a longer stay at Camp Chevy Dealer

Welcome to the site. Sorry you're having issues on a 2023 with the latest and greatest LSD 1.5 engine. We don't see too many issues with them. I'm having a time wrapping my head around this one.

First it was a bad HPFP, which they likely charged you ~$1000 for. Second it was a bad engine. Now it's just simply a bad battery?

These AGM batteries are expensive, but you can get a Walmart Everstart Platinum for well under $170 or so.
