Hello from NW Ohio!
Why I am here: I just traded in my trusty 2009 Ford Fusion with 136k miles on it for a 2021 Equinox LT. I had been looking at the Chevy Equinox for a while. You sure see a lot of them in my area.
My wife and I are older and wanted something we wouldn't have to fall down into and climb back out of. The Equinox has easy access and is comfortable. Before pulling the trigger on buying one, my concern was the 175 HP engine. My Fusion that I bought new in 2009 had the 221 HP V-6. I talked to a church friend who owned several Equinoxes over the years and loved them and told me he had no problems getting on the highway or passing. He also loves the dealership where I bought my Equinox from.
The 2021 I bought was a one-owner SUV had only 33k miles on it. It was purchased new at the dealership I bought it from and had oil changes there every 5k miles. It is the LT with the Driver Confidence Package.
So far, I love this Equinox. I'm not wild about is the color - nightfall gray metallic. Kind of dark for my taste but not a deal breaker. Also, it doesn't have the auto stop/start kill button like the 2022 has, so I am doing the "manual" shift mode trick to defeat it. Seems like the stop/start feature would be hard on the battery and the starter just to save a tiny bit of fuel.
The price was excellent for a well-maintained Equinox with low mileage and plenty of bells and whistles. I'm happy and the wife is happy.
