Looking to turn a 07 FWD LT Equinox into something that can use a tow hitch. Has anyone ever tried turning these 1st Gen Equinox's into something that can tow? (Like using a car carrier or car trolley for project cars)

If so, what would need to be done to do this?

Had someone say that a second fan would need to be installed cause towing makes the engine push harder.

Looking for constructive advice and knowledge

Never done anything like this and want to know if it's possible and what knowledge ppl have. Thnx in advance

There you go. I don't think an Equinox is a good choice for towing between 3-4,000 lbs. around. Should get a Trailblazer, Envoy or even one of the Bravadas or Rainiers from those years.

So can it be done? Is the trans the only thing stopping it from being done? A little bit more information would be helpful

You saw my recommendation. Get a Trailblazer. An Equinox is not built for towing anything over a ton.

Whatever. The Nox just ain't built for towing cars. If he's going to U-Haul to rent a dolly or trailer, they ain't gonna let him.

I've towed mine into the shop...a lot...behind my Expedition.
