fill tube and cap

Hello All, new here.
My daughters 2007 equinox oil cap and fill tube will not separate.
ordered new cap and fill tube and ended up with the same junk.
is there a fix? Please help.

Your Oil cap has been over tighten.The oil cap has an oil ring, so that quarter turn cap, snugged, is all you need. You may need to clean the cap and/or filler tube mating surfaces of contaminates, add a film of oil to the oil ring so as not to stick together.
