I have a 2020 Equinox 1.5 liter. After replacing the hood and bumper cover I am getting codes p0299 and p2227 and the engine has reduced power. The accident left moderate damage to the core support and hood. Everything was replaced. I’m wondering if these codes might be the turbo or catalytic converter? I thought maybe one or the other might have been damaged internally. Anyone have any ideas??

Best I can tell the P0229 is an underboost code and the P2227 is something to do with barometric pressure circuit A.
Was anything damaged on the charge air cooler? This is a pretty fragile part, right in the path of any front end collision. I'd check the charge air cooler for signs of leakage. You'll usually see oily vapor leakage from the bad areas. Also check the big hose clamps going into the charge air cooler, out of it and at the throttle body.
If all that is good, I'd check that baro pressure sensor/circuit, the MAF sensor and circuitry, etc.
If all that is good, It could be a turbo problem.

If you're sure the charge air cooler and all it's plumbing are intact, I'd check the turbo waste gate actuator and solenoid. I believe the actuator is vacuum powered and the vac is turned on/off by the solenoid. Other than that, you'd need to scan for live data to see how the baro pressure and boost pressure are reading and behaving.
After all, that P2227 code is a circuit code, so it could be a broken or corroded wire or bad connection to the baro press sensor.

It's on the intake manifold just to the left of the throttle body. It measures intake pressure and temperature if I understand it correctly.
Chased the P0299 on my 2019 1.5 and in the end it was the catalytic converter, had 80,000 miles on it at the time. Mine is a salvage title from some front end damage from the previous owner. I pulled the charge cooler cause it’s very vulnerable but mine was ok. $125 part from Amazon and you can change it without pulling the front end off.

I could see the potential of a clogged catalytic converter being a possible cause of an underboost code.
How long have you had the $125 aftermarket catalytic converter in place? Just curious how long it will last before it throws catalyst inefficiency codes. I couldn't even buy one of them if I wanted to in the People's Republic of NY being a CARB state. The only way is to hope you have a friend or relative in a non-CARB state mail order it for you and then get it from them.
30,000 miles on the replacement converter, 1.5 years. Didn’t see much difference from the oem and the replacement. The ceramic honeycomb shapes in the original appears to be breaking inside, maybe the original accident had something to do with it.
