I bought 2025 Equinox LT 1-4-2025. Check engine light came on at 600 miles (2-19-25). It was very cold outside (20). Next day when I was going to take care to dealership, the light went out. Dealer said light must be on. No problems until today 11-27-25 at 7600 miles. Light came on again. It was cold outside (30). Will take car in tomorrow. Saw post from 7-29-25. Known issue with this problem.

Sounds like all the other P050D "cold start rough idle" code reports I've read of the past year or two on GM's late model turbo 4cyl engines. Not sure if they figured this one out yet or not.

I have a 2025 Equinox with the same problem. When it is below freezing and I wash the car the check engine light comes on and what really pisses me off when the light is on you cannot use the remote start.
To find out what happens is water gets in the front air flow grille/dampener and freezes. Until that thaws out the light will stay on. GM has not fix and the dealer just told me to deal with it.
Twice I took the vehicle to the dealer with the light on. They let it thaw out and said all is good.
Seems like a design issue to me and it is also happening on other GM models.

Moose, I would report that dealer's statement up the organization chain, and see if they think the comment is appropriate. Personally, I don't think so.

There's a service bulletin on this, 20-NA-166 posted in 2024. Suggests could be caused by coolant getting into the cylinders. Each case should be investigated. Coolant in cylinders could mean a head gasket issue.
