The EPA credit to auto manufactures that have auto stop/start features is over. I see a future with no retrofit to remove this hated feature! WooHoo!

I think it will take some time to find out.Now curious what this means for emission testing in places that mandate that currently.
I am not sure that this particular feature nets any environmental gains. It shortens starter and battery life. Manufacturing more of those pollutes more than the gain from autostop. Aside from that let's do common sense things to use less resources and keep our air clean. That is important. I'll put my carbon footprint against Al Gore's any day.How incredibly sad it is that we're not doing everything we possibly can to leave this world a better place.
I do not hate this feature. It defiantly helps me save fuel. Here in Minnesota it just doesn't work in temps below 45F and in hotter temps with the AC on it does not work. So I do not understand what the big objection is to saving some fuel while you are at a stop light. I live in a city with complex intersections where one may have to wait 2-3 minutes or more if it is during a busy time. As I stated it does not affect the car in real cold or in heat so it stays comfortable. Plus I can choose to drive where it is much less likely to shut off the engine. So maybe you just need to be more aware of how this works to take advantage of the system? The EPA credit to auto manufactures that have auto stop/start features is over. Sure, some people really do like it. I drove my 'Nox with it for some time and then finally bought the pigtail to eliminate it. Maybe Chevy should keep it as an option for the folks that do want it.I do not hate this feature. It defiantly helps me save fuel. Also shortens the engine life since the engine bearings drag metal on metal until the oil pressure builds up again in several seconds.I am not sure that this particular feature nets any environmental gains.
