2025 Chevy Equinox RS

I have had my 2025 Equinox RS for 10 months now. I recently started noticing it making some noises that are trying to prove me crazy... I have taken it in multiple times and of course "they can't hear it." I previously had a 2018 equinox that I had to replace the turbo so I know those can be an issue and I know these sounds are almost pretty similar.... so has anyone else experienced the below????

1- loud base noise that seems to overcome the radio system randomly
2- Air pressure being released from the BOV, almost sounds like the sound of a speed racer car, or a semi releasing its brake like spitting air.
3- Loud humming/sub-woofer (loud exhaust) that overcomes the car after accelerating around the 2 RPM mark

I have noticed that it sometimes does get stuck in gear but since no lights and whistles are chiming or shining, they can't or won't do anything... I'm annoyed. I've been raised around cars, I know when something doesn't sound right.

Other than this weird loud exhaust noise- I have no complaints and love my car.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated though.

I have an RS and experience #3. I hear the hum when I am at 45 mph or above but it continues even if you take your foot off the gas so I don't think it's the exhaust. Maybe it's a wheel bearing noise? Or maybe it's the Active Noise Cancellation system behaving badly? I have my first oil change at the dealer soon and will mention it. I will suggest the infotainment software upgrade because I have read that it improves the Noise Cancellation after the update.

The sounds/noises you describe sound like all the other complaints on the active noise cancelling tech these 2025's have.

I think you have to have someone with their ear up to the effected area's speaker grille when it happens to confirm.

Blow off valve.

The tiny weezer turbos on our LYX 1.5s have a bypass style that just returns excess boost into the exhaust side of the turbo.

Hey, totally get why that’s frustrating—knowing something’s off but not getting it fixed stinks. Quick thoughts: The BOV/air noise and 2k RPM hum might tie to the turbo or boost system—could be a leak or valve issue. The gear sticking could be a transmission software glitch. Since no lights, maybe try a second dealer? Also, note *exactly* when it happens (temp, speed, etc.)—details might help them catch it. Hope you get it sorted soon!

Ask about the ANC upgrade, it could likely be the back seat microphones. They buzz at highway speeds.

Sounds like the noise cancellation system isn't working or one or more of the microphones is out of place. There are four of them in the headliner above the doors. There's an update for that system as well.
