I have a 2018 2.0T AWD with 50,000Mi. and am getting some light oil leaking somewhere above the oil filter area. While it is hard to isolate where the source is ,
at first glance it appears to be sepage from between the bottom of block and oil pan . While I didnt use a torque wrench many of the oil pan bolts seemed loose , so I gave each
a bit of a crank . I am currently monitoring results , but was curious if anybody else might have experienced something like this and may know the source ?
I wouldn't even notice the loss of oil if it didnt drop onto the exhaust , and come into the cabin via the ventilation fan, while at a stop light

There are some oil supply lines that run down to the Oil Filter area , but I dont think they are the culprit ...
Appreciate any insights others may have .

Other than Sunroof / Sunscreen motor failure , has been bulletproof .

there is a TSB for a bolt located next to the oil filter
#18-NA-201: Oil Leak from Oil Pan Area - (May 5, 2021)
I have this leak (not really a leak, but a weep), I have not addressed this yet, but it is where the oil is coming from on my 2018 2.0 equinox. I don't think it has dripped on the exhaust though
I do have weeping from the timing change cover, no drips. 150000 miles

Timing cover leakes very common on 2.0’s there is a tsb I don’t have the number but lack of sealant on the cover from factory . Had my wife’s 2.0 premier done under warranty years ago

Thanks Brennb and Brian-NJ . I was hoping it was just the bolt BrennB referenced, but if I had to guess, the Timing Chain Cover appears to be the culprit . Bummer .
Going to digg a bit deeper to confirm ...
