I have a 2018 equinox ls 1.5 a week ago it presented an issue that when you push the push to start button everything in the car shuts off except for the engine. It will run endlessly until it runs out of gas. Has anyone ever experienced this before? Way to turn it off include pulling one of 3 fuses for the ecm. There's a fuse called variable functions that is 7.5 amp and if I pull that and leave it out the vehicle will function normally when it comes to starting it and shutting it off. It throws a check engine light at that point for multiple codes i can only guess are related to that fuse being out. Have had ot to 3 shops none of which have presented a diagnosis of the issue or a fix for it. It has a parasitic draw while this condition occurs if left overnight it had to be jumped. Today when I plugged the battery in and drove it, it functioned properly for 6 starting and shutting the vehicle off cycles then re presented itself doing the same thing. Has a new battery in it and absolutely everything works flawlessly including the auto stop feature when driving around. Kinda at a loss here and any help or pointers would be appreciated. Could it be the underhood fuse block? A module? I don't think it's wiring but I'm not a Chevy certified mechanic.

Man. That’s weird. You said it started throwing up codes. That’s probably where you would need to start. If you can get a video of it throwing those codes it would be best. GM uses those codes kinda like shorthand. The first code states that it’s such and such modules unless it’s followed by this code here. I wish I could help more. P.s. I’m not saying this has anything whatsoever to do with your problem but the auto start stop is not good for the longevity of your car. On paper it’s a good idea but in reality the money you save in gas isn’t equal to the money spent repairing the wear and tear that auto start/stop provides.
