2012 V6 Equinox A/C not working after alternator replacement

We knew the alternator in our car needed to be replaced and before we could complete, the car completely quit running - A/C, radio, interior lights. We had to jump the battery off numerous times to get home. Now that alternator has been replaced, the A/C is not working. The negative battery cable was disconnected when changing the alternator. Any thoughts?

I would check to see if the ac compressor is engaged when the ac is on. If it is not engaged then maybe the cable that goes to the compressor that activates the clutch is either damaged or just not connected to the compressor. I have the 3.6 V6 and the ac compressor is right by where the alternator is so someone may have some something to that cable to the compressor when doing the alternator work.
