2011 parts car?

found a few equinoxes to work on. Usually have bad motors. Found a 2011 with motor issues for $800. Today I found another 2011 Ltz with a bad trans. And rebuilt motor. For $1k. Combine both? Haha.

Seller said motor was “rebuilt”. Timing chain and pistons. Well, it was a short txt so I don’t know details. But, you can’t easily pull pistons with motor in car. Would new pistons/rings solve oil burning issues? He is parting it out and wheels are gone. I need to move quick if I want it

Updated GM pistons and rings will correct the oil consumption issue.

I scour the net looking for Terrains, Equinox, Regals, etc w bad engines to rebuild. Good find man.

Put that transmission on that rebuilt engine add some wheels and your golden!

went into drive with kinda a thump. I drained 4 qts dark fluid.
put back 5. Goes into drive smoothly now. But it goes to neutral at 2-3 shift
and no reverse. he came down to $800 also. Ugh, pulling trans is lousy job.

assume it is wave plate issue. Power steering does not work too. If the motor was apart I’m sure they could have yanked some wires? subframe has to come down. Perfect time to work on steering? Replace assist module? Real easy at that time. But, what’s really wrong?
