2.0L 2018 Equinox Camshaft Phaser

Hello all,
My Equinox has a bad camshaft phaser and I am looking for more information on this repair before I go through with it. I have pulled the rocker cover off and can clearly see that it is not rotating properly and there are corresponding fault codes, I have also replaced the camshaft sensor and actuator. I am desperate for any information as anything I can find is on US models with a 2.4L, whatever other speciality tools I have been able to find are necessary I am unable to locate anywhere that sells them for less than the value of the car. Any information that could be provided would be welcome.

It doesn't seem like an easy task. From what I have seen online, you need a tool to hold the camshaft in place while you remove the phaser.

Sometimes when the equipment cost is prohibitive it pays to hand it off to an equipped shop. Not what you were asking but something to ponder. Good luck!
